Why don't we just crash all the waste that we made into the sun?




It sounds a really good idea to take all the nuclear waste or any waste into the sun, right? The truth is it is harder to crash into the sun than to go to Pluto! Ask how?

Reason #1

Well, this all has to do with the fact that the earth is spinning at a speed of 1000 miles per hour (1600 kilometers per hour). So, if you want to get to the sun, you have to go 1000 miles backward and then go to the sun. Just to show you how fast 1000 miles per hour, it is about 16.67 miles per second! So, get to get to the sun, you need to go 16.67 miles per second backward, and then go to the sun. That's why missions to the sun first went to Jupiter and then came to the sun. 

Reason #2

Not only is it hard to get to the sun because of the spin of the earth but also because it is very dangerous to put all the nuclear waste into a spaceship because spaceships have a tendency to blast when lunching and if it explodes in mid-air, they will spread all the radioactive nuclear waste everywhere and cause a lot of trouble to the residents within 50 miles from the site which is really dangerous and will have a lot of impact in the environment.
